Pittsburgh classic

The story

Jimmy and Nino Sunseri come from one of the Strip District's oldest food families. Their grandfather started in the business in 1902, and Jimmy went to work in his father's store at 13. He graduated from Duquesne in 1970, and in 1985 the brothers opened a store of their own on Penn Avenue.

The thing to get is the pepperoni roll, a two pound loaf. On a regular Saturday they sell 400 to 450 of them, and the Saturday before the Steelers played Green Bay in the Super Bowl they sold more than 900.

Grab a jar of the Legendary Dipping Peppers on the way out. It's the kind of Strip District shop where the guys behind the counter are the reason you came.
