Pittsburgh classic

The story

DeLuca's has been cooking breakfast in the Strip District since 1950, and it still calls itself the original. You'll find it at 2015 Penn Avenue under the rooster on the roof.

Inside it's a classic, no fuss breakfast and lunch joint. Plates are big, the burgers and shakes are bigger, and everything is made to order, so nobody's in a hurry. It's cash only, there's counter seating, and unless you're a group of six or more it's first come, first served. The kitchen buys fresh food and meats from its Strip District neighbors, which feels right for a place that has been part of the neighborhood for more than 75 years.
